Inivos was founded in 2019 by Asanga Marasinghe and his cofounders, a Sri Lankan team with one goal: build a technology company that could compete globally.
Asanga came up through IFS, the Swedish ERP company. He joined as a software engineer on a scholarship while still a part time student, and rose through years of international project work before cofounding Inivos.
The company started small. Today Inivos has 180+ professionals across Sri Lanka, the USA, Singapore and Canada.
Into automotive software
Inivos has now entered one of the hardest markets in tech. It partnered with ICT Automotive, a subsidiary of ICT Group and the European supplier behind vehicle software for brands like Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, Mercedes and DAF.
Inivos's Sri Lankan engineers are contributing to real automotive projects: embedded systems, electric vehicle software, and software defined vehicle platforms built to the strictest safety standards.
ICT Group brings 40+ years in automotive software and 400+ specialists across Europe. When it looked to scale its engineering capacity, it chose Sri Lanka.
The launch
The launch event in Colombo was attended by the Netherlands Deputy Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the University of Moratuwa.
From a startup founded in 2019 to building safety critical software for European automotive programs. That is how fast Sri Lankan engineering can move.
