Sri Lankan engineers help build Norway's leading digital health platform. Meet Creative Software

Norway runs one of the most advanced public healthcare systems in the world. The electronic health record platform at the centre of it is built by DIPS AS, the country's largest digital health provider. For years, Sri Lankan engineers in Colombo have been part of building it.

Creative Software was founded in Colombo in 1999 by four cofounders: Jonas Bridgwater, Sushena Ranatunga, Sajith Peiris and Johann Senaratna.

A model that was ahead of its time

The idea was simple. Build and manage dedicated software teams for international clients, so a Scandinavian company could have a Colombo engineering team that works as an extension of its own.

Twenty five years later, Creative Software has 550+ professionals, a Microsoft Gold Partnership, and clients across four continents, with its deepest roots in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Its work spans healthcare, construction, oil and gas, logistics, manufacturing, finance and IFS ERP consulting.

That is a European national health platform, regulated and patient critical, trusting engineers in Colombo as core contributors.

When Creative marked its 25th anniversary in December 2024, clients flew in from their home countries to celebrate with the Sri Lankan teams they had worked with for years. That is a partnership, well beyond a vendor contract.
