How much does a developer cost in Sri Lanka?

A software engineer in Colombo earns a median of about LKR 177,000 a month (about USD 535) and a senior engineer about LKR 260,000, on self reported Glassdoor data for 2026. Employers add 15% in statutory contributions. Partner company rates are around USD 25 to 40 an hour according to the Export Development Board.
