CodeGen International was founded in 1999 by Dr. Harsha Subasinghe, who holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from City University London.

Its flagship product, travelbox, became one of the world's leading travel technology platforms, used by international airlines, online travel agencies, tour operators, parks and attractions, and cruise lines.

The clients and the numbers

Clients include Virgin Holidays, Kuoni Travel, SriLankan Airlines, Tour America, Desert Adventures, Eden Collection and Walkers Tours, among 250+ travel businesses globally.

600+ engineers. 250+ global clients. 20+ countries across five continents. Over 1 billion bookings processed.

Its engineering hub is in Colombo at TRACE Expert City, with offices in London and the US.

It did not stop at travel software

The same company built Vega, Sri Lanka's first all electric supercar, and ChargeNET, Sri Lanka's first and largest EV charging network.

A travel tech platform competing globally, an electric supercar and a national EV charging network, all engineered by the same Sri Lankan company from Colombo.

This is what deep, sustained R&D capability looks like when it is built and kept in Sri Lanka.
